Centre for the Child, Family and Society
Following the Assembly Government’s ground breaking approach to child development Glyndŵr University is investing £2million in a new Centre for the Child, Family and Society. Funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the Centre is based on a Scandinavian concept and will allow those working in the field of child development to hone their skills in both an academic and practical manner and provide an excellent facility for educational research activities. The Centre is based on an integrated approach to child development and therefore includes a wide variety of specialisms as they affect children including health, nutrition, child psychology, exercise and education. The building itself has facilities for babies, toddlers and pre-school children including inside and outside play areas, sleep rooms, and a sensory room as well as seminar and observation rooms. All areas within the Centre are carefully segregated to ensure maximum security and there are separate entrances for the education and childcare facilities. |
